EJ's History

EJ Painting & Fiberglass is a family owned and operated business that was founded by Tom Ellis, who began his career as a glass-man in the composites industry. Tom Ellis began EJ Painting & Fiberglass through painting houses and doing miscellaneous composite side jobs. EJ established itself in 1982 when Tom Ellis was awarded a contract to do composite work for a plating company in Colorado. It was through this relationship that we were introduced and began our relationship with Mobile Tool in 1982 fabricating utility baskets. It was also in 1982 that Tom Ellis's son Kirk Ellis, who is now the current owner, began his career in the fiberglass industry at the young age of 17. Over time EJ Painting & Fiberglass continued to grow and evolve and in 1996 Tom Ellis and Kirk Ellis had our current manufacturing facilities custom designed and built. Kirk Ellis took ownership of EJ Painting & Fiberglass from his father in 2003. EJ Painting & Fiberglass exists today because we found a niche. By learning to apply ourselves and by putting our best effort into the fabrication of quality fiberglass products.
